Where She Went

I was like… Je ne sais quoi.

It’s been three years since the devastating accident… three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future – and each other.

Told from Adam’s point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Je ne sais quoi. That’s it. Enough said. 5 shooting star for me!! I love it!

There’s one thing I like to ask from the author, it’s the fictional album ‘Collateral Damage’. I want it to exist in music store like iTunes and etc.

Some of the lyrics from a song out of ‘Collateral Damage’album:
First you inspect me
Then you dissect me
Then you reject me
I wait for the day
That you’ll resurrect me
 "Animate” Collateral Damage, Track 1
Animate is one of the fictional song that I really like! And there’s another one! Here:
The clothes are packed off to Goodwill
I said my good-byes up on that hill
The house is empty, the furniture sold
Soon your smells will decay to mold
Don’t know why I bother calling, ain’t nobody answering
Don’t know why I bother singing, ain’t nobody listening

“Disconnect” Collateral Damage, Track 10
Of course, Animate‘s chorus:
Hate me. Devastate me.
Annihilate me.
Re-create me.
Re-create me.
Won’t you, won’t you won’t you re-create me.
Totally written by a “man” if you know what I mean if you had read the book. It’s my first time reading a book in guy’s perspective. I mean…not really first time but it’s my first time reading a book that tells us how guys literally are when they are in a complicated situation/relationships. Getting inside of Adam’s head, was actually funny and he’s hilarious! And..a guy like him is such a poker face. Well, it’s pretty true that guys like to hide their feelings. I observed guys and I always have to check on the poker face and ting! YES!

Adam is really… a cool guy. I see that he always seem to be himself, the real him whenever he’s around Mia. Oh I love them both. Very cute couple!

I so have nothing to say…this book is absolutely amazing! Read it!

I hear rumors… but I think it’s true, that there will be ‘If I Stay’ movie!!!! EEEEEEEEK!! *fingers crossed*

Timeless

Utterly magical.

When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.
Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.

Reading this book was magical to me and made me fell in love all over again to classical music. Alexandra Monir wrote the book beautifully like the book was a song or symphony.
My tweets will again show you how I got obsessed into Michele’s world:
  • I couldn’t put down Timeless!! Eeek!! Omg Phillip and Michele makes me cry. I so emo lol
  • And I’m so happy with this book!!! Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity was mentioned! LOVE it!
  • Oh my gosh!! More 1910 guys like Philip, please! <333
  • I love how the book mentioned classical music….all other stuffs about music, history and science. <3
  • Timeless movieeeeee??? OMG
  • I…um. Wow! Very fascinated by this book! This one’s a fast read and done reading it today! I love Timeless! <333
  • OMG The last part…. Philip Walker. The ring…I am thinking that Philip might be a time traveler too but has a different item to take
  • …him. It’s the ring maybe? For Michele, it’s the necklace key?
  • Gosh…I feel so clueless of what’s gonna happen next!! I want the sequel to Timeless NOW.
  • Serenade was mentioned in the book, Timeless and I totally forgot how I love listening to that!! classical music is so romantic to me <333
  • #TheBestPartOfMyDayWas finishing the book i long to read. #Timeless #MichelePhilipforever <333

The book is a fast read, it’s got only 200+ pages and it’s intensely beautiful, magical. Gosh, Philip Walker… I do not know where in the world can a guy be like him anymore. I just don’t understand guys these days. I want a 1910 guy for myself too haha though he will be technically, 100 years old haha. But really, if ever guys still exist like him, wow. Let’s get it over with, I wanna know youuu, boi. LOL.

Music was mentioned in this book and I absolutely love it! Classical music is what amazed me, jazz, ragtime, Ella Fitzgerald. Just. WOW. Awesome! Last night I had myself a treat to listen to a classical music radio station, I fell in love all over. It was so peaceful, calm.. to my head that I can think straight. Notes floated and I felt like I was too. It was an absolute magical feeling! Through music, my feeling is very different. I seem to be very happy! :D

I love Michele as a character in the book. She is simple, ordinary, living the life she was put into..not ever complaining but moving forward in life. Well..until she found out that she’s a time traveler. That’s all. She’s simply trying her best to make it through each day.

Not only the music that has got me so fascinated. Even the Science theory and family history, US history involved in the novel has got me going so interested! I was also trying to have the best imagination out of my head about 1910. 100 years back. Blown away. I was blown away by that. I’m such a geek over these stuffs but it’s so fascinating I am curious about it! History has got more than any subjects that I know and Science as well. These two things are beyond of what you will ever imagine!

I must be rambling a lot about this book. A lot. It’s because, you just gotta read it! It won’t disappoint you readers interested in time travel. ;)

Michele and Philip forever.

P.S. I had read the excerpt to the sequel of the book which comes out this Dec (IKR, what a looong way to go), ‘The Timekeeper’ and I can’t believe Philip, seriously. Haha. The excerpt was a total tease!

The Death Cure

Thomas knows that Wicked can’t be trusted, but they say the time for lies is over, that they’ve collected all they can from the Trials and now must rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission. It’s up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test. What Wicked doesn’t know is that something’s happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can’t believe a word of what Wicked says. The time for lies is over. But the truth is more dangerous than Thomas could ever imagine. Will anyone survive the Death Cure?

I should have done reading this before school starts but I just finished it today. This final book in the The Maze Runner trilogy is quite rushed through. However, it turned out a good read for me. I was just so shocked of what happened in the end.

Nothing of it came out cliched to me. Every turn of the page is a surprise and there were twists which I really enjoyed! Mr Dashner passed, entertaining readers like me! After every trials that Thomas and the rest of the Gladers went through under WICKED, I am happy most of them survive.

What I like about the whole thing is that Thomas being the leader, who never ever want any of his friends gets left behind. He wants everyone to make it with him in the other side. He wants them to go as one and always be close wherever he is off to. Stick to him and get nobody left behind.

The Scorch Trials

I had done reading this book only yesterday. It took me quite a looong while to finish this book. Been busy in school but I still read the book even if I snatched times during free periods in school. Mr Dashner, does not disappoint his readers in this one! A MUST READ – The Maze Runner trilogy!

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. No more puzzles. No more variables. And no more running. Thomas was sure that escape meant he and the Gladers would get their lives back. But no one really knew what sort of life they were going back to.

In the Maze, life was easy. They had food, and shelter, and safety . . . until Teresa triggered the end. In the world outside the Maze, however, the end was triggered long ago.

Burned by sun flares and baked by a new, brutal climate, the earth is a wasteland. Government has disintegrated-and with it, order-and now Cranks, people covered in festering wounds and driven to murderous insanity by the infectious disease known as the Flare, roam the crumbling cities hunting for their next victim . . . and meal.

The Gladers are far from finished with running. Instead of freedom, they find themselves faced with another trial. They must cross the Scorch, the most burned-out section of the world, and arrive at a safe haven in two weeks. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.

Thomas can only wonder-does he hold the secret of freedom somewhere in his mind? Or will he forever be at the mercy of WICKED?

It totally blew me away! This book really is incredible! I was reading the part where totally-gone Cranks lost their sanity completely and when Thomas made the move to…gosh that part made me wanted to pee in my skirt. I was in an air conditioned library, it was free periods then. Really, I hold my bladder and after the period was over, I rushed to the level 3 washroom! It scared the heck out of me! Haha! I kept laughing how I react to the book…being scared and all this shuck stuffs. I blame the Cranks!
Let’s look at my tweets @QueenieDahilan:
  • Ah this is awesome! I’m currently reading ‘The Scorch Trial’!! I miss the shanks!! Lol
  • Thomas and Teresaaaa!
  • The Scorch Trials is a freaking genius book and Thomas…oh Thomas. the deal he had with the leader Crank lol
  • pretty cool of Thomas to humor the Crank in that kind of situation. idk how will i do it the way he did hahah!
  • just finished reading The Scorch Trials!! on to the next book, The Death Cure!! I’m going insane with the betrayal stuffs
  • I don’t even think of trusting WICKED though they are in fact good, like Teresa had said and the tattoo on her. yeah, right…….

I’m now reading the final book in the trilogy, The Death Cure. It’s awesome! REALLY. AWESOME. I still don’t trust WICKED even if there’s a cure, whatever they want from Thomas and the Gladers and the rest.

Sky Chasers #1: Glow

The book reminds me of Across The Universe and Wither. I would love to see what happens in the next book! It’s pretty good. I gave it 3 stars on Goodreads.

What if you were bound for a new world, about to pledge your life to someone you’d been promised to since birth, and one unexpected violent attack made survival—not love—the issue?
Out in the murky nebula lurks an unseen enemy: the New Horizon. On its way to populate a distant planet in the wake of Earth’s collapse, the ship’s crew has been unable to conceive a generation to continue its mission. They need young girls desperately, or their zealous leader’s efforts will fail. Onboard their sister ship, the Empyrean, the unsuspecting families don’t know an attack is being mounted that could claim the most important among them…
Fifteen-year-old Waverly is part of the first generation to be successfully conceived in deep space; she was born on the Empyrean, and the large farming vessel is all she knows. Her concerns are those of any teenager—until Kieran Alden proposes to her. The handsome captain-to-be has everything Waverly could ever want in a husband, and with the pressure to start having children, everyone is sure he’s the best choice. Except for Waverly, who wants more from life than marriage—and is secretly intrigued by the shy, darkly brilliant Seth.

But when the Empyrean faces sudden attack by their assumed allies, they quickly find out that the enemies aren’t all from the outside.

Across The Universe…because the story takes place in space as well and people are living in a huge spaceship where there’s one in charge. There’s a girl who doesn’t trust the leader of the ship or anyone on board. Everyone is under control of a powerful leader.

The other book is Wither. This one is not space fiction or anything like that. It’s not fantasy either but dystopian. It’s a whole new world in this book. Girls can live till 18 i think and boys, 20. The main character is a girl who was kidnapped and was chosen to be married to a high class already-married man against her will. The world was running out children because of disease when you turn the age of 18 and 21 and so girls have be married at the least of 13 were girls are already fertile to bear children.

The two books, you mix together and you’ll have the idea of what’s the book all about. Well, at least it’s close to these two books’ story.

Gosh….i really like Kieran Alden in the book!! He is a new leader. One that has a good heart for people aboard Empyrean. There was a quite of a twist about it… and Seth. I get him now.

Glow started good. Really good. It was a thrill ride! The epilogue really was a cliffhanger! Dangit! When’s the next book gotta come out?? I can’t wait!!
