I love this book because for one, it becomes much clearer to me now that when I read Radiant and everything that happened to Clara and Angela's Italy trip. I get to know more too, about the characters - the most is Angela.
I liked how it was linked to Boundless. Although I went ahead reading Boundless - I actually thought Radiant would only be based on Angela's points of view. Not that I didn't want Clara's perspective.
Angela's thoughts were a little shocking to me because I didn't really see her as the type of girl who is jealous of anybody - be it other people's strengths, beauty, etc. I actually look up to her because I find her confidence inspiring. Or perhaps, she really is good at hiding her facial expressions. Especially, keeping her feelings well hidden or blocked, so Clara will not read/know her emotions or of how she truly feels when she's around Clara. She felt pretty insecure. I felt that from Angela - the time when Phen wanted to meet Clara and she agreed she would brought Clara with her for him to meet.
I like Phen who is mysterious, secretive, distant, and I think he's quite selfish too for not telling Angela to know more about him while she went talking beyond what is obvious about herself. Also, a few worth Tucker mentions and flashbacks from Clara was indeed wonderful!! Ah. What a feeling!! It felt like extra bonus for me after suffering from book hangover from reading and finishing Boundless.
Clara and Angela are different but both has great potential and unique in their own way. Their outlook on situations at hand is different as well. I liked Angela while reading Radiant because of how she has her way to things she wanted to do and achieve. Nothing wrong with going the way you are happy about. She's always chasing after what she wants, though mistakes are inevitable at times.
It went from well to great to I-cannot-stop-I-want-more!! That's how I'm craving for more! Sadly, I guess this is it - no more. I'm missing this trilogy so bad! Go read it!!! *hugs, hugs*
