Shadow and Bone

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.
Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha…and the secrets of her heart.

One of the best debut novels I’ve read this year. Thanks to Ms Bardugo! Truly fantasy fantastic!! Can’t wait for the sequel! I’m sure there will be more surprises to come and I hope for new characters Alina and Mal will know along their journey and eventually hopefully lend a helping hand to them to defeat the Darkling (though I still think Ms Bardugo has not given him a name lol, I like it—unknown, mysterious, dark boy he is) and I’m sure Ms Bardugo has not given the climax of the story yet! Eeeep!! This is just the tip of the iceberg!! Looking forward!!

Into fantasy?? YES! Probably the right book to read NOW! The moment I read it, I couldn’t put it down. It’s just a poor thing if you do not read it in one sitting!!

GO. READ. SHADOW & BONE.

Hoping for a movie.

But anyway, books are the best way you can have your movie, because you pretty much is the direction, it’s your imagination that flows while reading!! It’s awesome!!
