I would just like to sum up the whole series into one review. The books in Volume 2 has been a great and perilous journey for Kaylee's life. Stressing as it is for Kaylee as for me too. The book has got the heart-pounding scenes that I almost wasn't ready for! Definitely worth the time reading!
The new characters introduced, Sabine and Alec, are interesting enough that they fit nicely in the story. Although Sabine's intro was pretty much messed up and got Kaylee jealous as I thought she lost her mind because her relationship with Nash wasn't stable and now Sabine suddenly appears in her disorganized life. I don't blame Sabine, it was just for me, Kaylee's POV in My Soul To Steal made me feel annoyed and irritated the way her reactions to Nash and Sabine's status. I almost wanted to skip every page about that as I truly find it irrelevant and Kaylee and Nash relationship getting repetitive. I sat back and hope more Tod would take the spotlight beside Kaylee (#TeamTod).
I believe at that point in My Soul to Keep, Kaylee and Nash hasn't been in good terms and in my opinion, the context getting out of hand when the story kicks off in My Soul to Steal as their trust has been broken one too many times, it's getting out of hand. Both of them are so unclear of their status and where they stand. I like Kaylee's stubbornness throughout and that makes her a strong-willed character.
Talk about Tod. Tod has it. It as in, the likeable, humorous character you'll find in the book. I'm truly grateful that Volume 2 includes his novella which feature his POV, how he ended a reaper in the first place. I like him better than Nash from the start, to be honest and I'm utterly not surprised he's finally stepping up in My Soul to Steal. A very well-developed character that I will just love forever.
