With All My Soul

What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...

After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.

But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has....

With All My Soul bravely describes the twists and turns unimaginable as the conclusion to the entire series brings Kayle Cavanaugh the ultimate decision and the only way to save everyone she loves once and for all.

As much as I'd like to admit it, I truly wasn't capable of shedding tears while reading the book. This is because I've learned from the beginning that Ms Rachel Vincent promised for a happy ending we all -the readers- deserved. True enough, I trusted the author to handle the situation at hand. Kaylee and everyone made it through. But that's not what I enjoyed about the book.

I would have read the Soul Screamers Volume 4. Unfortunately, it's not available in the library. Yet. I'm looking forward to read the last three novellas. Fearless, Niederwald and Last Request. Especially, Last Request as it's connected to the very last chapter of With All My Soul plus it's a bonus POV of the Hudson brothers. I wouldn't miss that for the world!

What I liked was how the book is focused on the family matters. Mostly it's about taking care of your family members and it goes beyond just protecting them, but also showing selflessness and love. In the beginning, I wasn't prepared to read the last installment because clearly I wasn't ready and I'll miss all the characters who've put a smile on my face. However when I read and it's got the family issue unresolved and everything I knew I wanted to continue and finish it with everyone still together as a big happy family. I needed to know.

The climax of the plot has to be the most killer of all! Readers will meet Ira and will eventually find out how his role in all of this and what it all means. It has to be the most brilliant and ironic of all the possibilities that could've happened in the book. I'm very impressed how the author did the twists with the final, believable ingenious bargain and a very permanent solution to the main problem in the entire series.

"When you died, I realized that the most important thing I could ever do with my life was to make sure you'd keep living yours." Let's face it. I already miss Tod Hudson very much. Continue to be the source of amusement for eternity and Kaylee. All right, Tod? I'm sure you've heard me crystal clear, reaper.

I didn't like it though at the start, I feel like the book was losing quite the purpose of 'team' when truthfully it's non-existent in the first place. Kaylee was a little selfish here, in my opinion. Although in the end that has come to say that it's all for everyone's safety and a peaceful future that takes them all away from the evil forces of the Netherworld.

With All My Soul might have leave me mind-numbing at the start but a fantasy sure to get hold of me for all time with its memorable characters. Ultimately, it will captivate readers of the Soul Screamers series to catch their breath to the very end.
