The Maze Runner

This 1st book in the trilogy amazed me with the awesome settings and very well written descriptive place in the maze or what this maze all about! SUPER EXCITED to read the 2nd installment which is The Scorch Trials! I need to pack my mind ready for another adventure with Thomas and Teresa and the rest of the shanks! Hahaha! James Dashner, you’re indeed the DUDE – I love how you write! Thank you so much for sharing this with all the readers!! :D

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.

Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up—the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.

Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind.

My tweets will probably answer my meaning of “insane” while reading this book last couple of days lol.

WOW. Just looking at those tweets posted by me…idk if you still don’t get me how AWESOMEAGE this book is!! YOU REALLY REALLY HAVE TO READ IT! Even on my Facebook, I posted a status about the maze LOL.

I read the 1st chapter not long ago and I have an inspire drawing, really. The next morning it just disappeared from the shelf. I did a drawing because I need a picture to see how the maze really looks like haha. Call me mad..but really lol I needed it. And YES. I really threw the book across the room. The beginning gave me GOOSEBUMPS. James Dashner did an amazing job writing this book!! A MUST READ for the Hunger Games fans out there! Idk if I should go on because most of my tweets says it all and everything!
I’m having a Glader accent disease. I kept using shank, shuck. haha! It’s true, I have the shuckiest short hair now. I’ll post a picture real soon.

I love how the character in the book, Thomas, asks a lot of questions. You know, itching to get answers – curious of just about every thing. ‘Cause that’s how we learn – we simply ask questions to those who knows something better than us. Thomas was a guy who can’t just NOT do something when something wrong where he landed on. He doesn’t give up easily. He keeps pushing himself that there must be a way to SOLVE the thing. Thomas always thinks too. Think think. Even before sleeping… I really love this character. The book is hilarious. Absolutely! Made me laugh out loud and my siblings think I’m laughing with their jokes when I’m not haha! Thomas MADE ME LAUGH. Thomas’ a Greenie and so is Teresa and me three LOL. ;)

The story’s been stuck in my head. Ponder ponder..of what’s going to happen to their world. Oh gosh I remember…I feel like crying now. Chuck. Oh my shuck-face Chuck.

Anyway, Teresa is a lovely character. Lots of clues were hanging in the air for Thomas when she arrives in Glade. Her hero: Thomas. I won’t say any CLUES for you. You have to read it. No spoilery stuffs. I gotta end this before it gets too rambly… The adventure continues on The Scorch Trials.

Let’s start with something more basic.

“…Isn’t it strange that I know you’d risk your life to save mine… but I don’t know what your favorite color is?” he says.
A smile creeps on to my lips. “Green. What’s yours?”
“Orange,” he says.
“Orange? Like Effie’s hair?” I say.
“A bit more muted,” he says. “More like… sunset.” ~Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire

Photo by me, using Canon EOS. ;)
Sunset. I can see it immediately, the rim of the descending sun, the sky streaked with soft shades of orange. Beautiful. ~Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire

Taken by me- using my Sony phone, my fave-old phone. I love sunsets too. <3

Mockingjay

Finally I’m starting the last book from the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay! Go check the book out!
“I am going to be the Mockingjay,” says Katniss.
Awesome ride so far in this book! Going slow but it’s very very exciting!

My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss’s family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plains–except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss’s willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels’ Mockingjay–no matter what the personal cost.

The Hunger Games Trilogy: Catching Fire

Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol– a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create.

Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she’s afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she’s not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol’s cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can’t prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

AMAZING BOOK. Definitely a must read for all who loves suspense, adventure, romance, well..it’s all there and read it for yourself! LOVE the book to pieces! In fact, the whole trilogy! I’m on the way to read the 3rd and final installment of The Hunger Games Trilogy. I can’t wait to read it!
P.S. NLB – actually, i just borrowed the book from one of the libraries here. Don’t worry, when i have a lot of money from my piggy bank and i save money for it, I’ll buy those books in the stores and who knows, I may get the chance to get my copies signed from the author even ;)
If you’re wondering too, that cover is one of the other cover the book has but originally, the book cover looks like this, which is wicked cool too!
