The Guild Series novella: Corruption of the Soul

It's a story that's been told since the dawn of time.

Boy meets girl.

They fall madly in love, for happiness is written in the stars.

Their one true fate is to have happily ever after at their fingertips.

But what if it's not?

What if every chance encounter is really a carefully orchestrated meeting pushing you toward a greater purpose? A purpose that you've spent your entire existence fighting against?

Boy meets girl.

They fall madly in love.

But they'll never come close to happily ever after, for pain and devastation is what is truly written as their destiny.

All he wants is to feel power and all she wants is to feel complete.

Together, Aedan and Evangeline create a love big enough to bring about the destruction of Humanity, as well as themselves.

I was given the privilege to have read and review an early copy of one of the most anticipated novella for me! I want give all my thank yous to the author! Thank you, J! It's been such an overwhelming feeling to have received this ebook copy from you! I'm so grateful! Thank you once again!

Prior to Vivienne Drake's life and how it turned into chaos, Corruption of the Soul has unveil to readers the pure love and deceptions that lurks within the relationship of Evangline Quillan and Daemonium Aedan. It was all but, short lived and yet felt true for both of them. Shattered from the truth and her dreamed of having a future with Aedan, Evangeline Quillan's set out to find herself away from the lies, but she isn't broken as she was given a precious daughter who will avenge for every wrongdoing Aedan's about to do to humanity, and especially The Guild.

Corruption of the Soul is written in third person perspective. Therefore, it views on wide range of scenes and thoughts of different characters. An intriguing read, well-written book with a heart pounding fast-paced plot.

Fearless, she is, Evangeline has inspired me when reading the novella. She made a decision for herself, one where almost all of her desires lay upon. She lived life to the fullest. Although, it was a rush for her to say that she truly knew who Aedan is, I'd have to give her credit for giving love to the man she barely even knew.

As for Aedan, I truly saw how he's very possessive of things he wants. He surprised me the way I wouldn't have, that he's capable of giving love, one that doesn't have to be an act but one that comes from him and his heart alone. He wasn't restrained or forced either when he fell in love with Evangeline. It was indeed a natural feeling when love comes to any person. It just happens. If he did act at all, well, I didn't notice it. I've never dreamed of Aedan capable of any of these emotions. He's gotten all mushy, and so do I. It was believable and real.

I'd have to mention Gabriella though. That part has got me confusing. The novella started when Aedan met up with her. I was thinking how did the two knew each other and what is it with their associate with each other? They seemed to have an agreement on something that would have to do with Evangeline. Was Gabriella an ally of Aedan who lived within The Guild? Spare her time with Spiro to bear a child who would bring vengeance for Aedan's realm and his plans?

The fate for Evangeline and Aedan is somewhat ridiculous, although it made perfect sense. Archangel Michael was just not making sense to me. He, especially let Evangeline bear a child with Daemonium Aedan. Michael might as well get on my nerves. I'm thinking he has a mind of his own that has a bit of an issue. I realized something about him though, he has purpose for what's been happening to Evangeline's life too and he's reasonable about those things.

The novella's title speaks true to what it has to cover. It truly has a nice title that describes the whole plot in one exact right word - Corruption. The story of Evangeline and Aedan, and the twist of fate that came upon them with the tragedy that follows. It doesn't mean it was the end of everything. Everything that has to happen had only just begun. I enjoyed reading Corruption of the Soul.
