Godspeed was once fueled by lies. Ruled by chaos. Now it’s time to come home. But life on Centauri-Earth is far from perfect. Threats from the planet and from within the colony are tearing them apart, although Elder and Amy do all they can to keep it together. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed–friends, family, life on Earth–will have been meaningless.

(Actual) Rating: 5 of 5 stars
The time has finally come for the shipborns and Earthborns to emerge and help one another for survival on the perilous unfamiliar planet that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Each page will transport us to where dangers are, truth unfolds that we never would have expected. Amy and Elder continues the search for clues of missing pieces - the truth that holds everything that has to do with their new home - Centauri-Earth. Fight for what is worth and standing up for what is right. Amy and Elder has only one objective- a home for everyone. One thing is for certain - Amy and Elder will not let anything pass as they further dig for the truth.
Its setting is beyond of what I can all imagine. A new world that I can no longer keep up. Unbelievably incredible! As I read the book, I was so focused and can no longer feel the surroundings or wherever I was at that moment. Too engrossed with each details - reading every sentence and enjoying so much of the alternate points of view from the main characters - Amy and Elder. I was fascinated with the author coming up with such a plot that really is a mind-blowing science fiction. The setting of the plot is full of mysteries and what the characters are up against left me in the best of thrills. That includes riddles, clues. And the author has no idea that I love the volume book where the last clue is hidden. I am as curious as Amy and Elder of what lurks finding out what truly is going on.
Most of the characters are realistic. I could relate to Elder, most of the time. In my opinion, from the previous books in the trilogy which in 'Across The Universe' and 'A Million Suns', Elder pretty much appeared living his life in fear when in Godspeed whereas on this context - it shows he is a capable future leader despite the mentality he has that he thinks of difficult tasks he can't handle when actually he could. He just needed encouragement and support. I love Elder too because he is not a self-centered person who will just think of himself or what he wants.

A Million Suns
Godspeed was once fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos.
Amazing amazing book! Speechless! Just finished reading A Million Suns! Now get me the last book!!! I can’t wait for Shades of Earth! 2013, hurry hurry!! The author left me/us, readers, with a word ‘ready’. Oh my, yes, I’m READY of what’s going to happen to Amy & all the people in the shuttle! I love the murder mystery, clues Orion wants Amy to find out for herself! Every bit in the book is amazing!! Definitely a must read especially who is like a weird nerd like me when it comes to Science Fiction in it with Dystopia genre. I love the author, Beth Revis! Super brilliant author! While I was reading this, I can’t help but hold my breath for every page. I gasp in horror. Believe it or not, I feel this book.
Whenever I read this, I can’t help but feel like I’m in the book. Trapped in a ship… couldn’t go outside. No earth natural food, all artificially made. I hate artificial. Like, I’m in the future…you know. Literally in the future. Living a hard – harder life than on Earth. Now that I literally feel what it’s like in the ship, I tend to appreciate more, our beautiful Earth. Where we breathe clean not recycled oxygen everyday. Simple as that – I appreciate now.
I felt really excited when Elder and Amy finally come together. But for some reasons I kinda blame myself that I read this book too early haha because the next book will be out NEXT YEAR. NEXT YEAR. Yes. THAT long. I know!! I can’t wait to have it read now! I gotta wait for Shades of Earth!
And oh, happy day for me today – EXAM IS OVER! I have many spare times now for reading!!
Amy. Oh Amy. She’s a clever young girl!! Same goes to Elder. Both are a great team! Solving mysteries that I found pretty hard to solve. I kinda think Amy likes Maths. Really. She just loves mysteries with codes and stuff! I love this book for this! Really a suspense in a way. Riveting story indeed! You just can’t. Oh my I can’t even get my eyes off the book, all I know was ‘I HAVE TO KEEP READING THIS. IT’S SO GOOD. I HAVE TO. I WANT TO.’ I’m so captivated by the story.
On the other hand, Elder’s character is an interesting one. I…don’t think I got one friend that sounded like him or much less, acts the way he does. He’s all different. Smart but he needs confidence especially when he’s got people on his shoulder to look after and well, he’s ruling this people. He is the leader of the people in Godspeed. He lacks of confidence. But he’s doing pretty fine. I still love Elder. Aw.
Hahah the language of shipborns is hilarious! They have word like, “shite, frex,” hahah these two cusses are famous on board it almost sound funny, I mean it is funny to me!! HAHAHA OH FREX! WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2013 for Shades of Earth?!
I keep thinking if this happen to us, I don’t think I’ll survive. I’ll really commit suicide and just fly in the space. In the coldest temperature. For me, I just want EARTH, EARTH. My home.
SO people, take care of Mother Nature now or else. My oh my, or else. If you don’t want to go to another habitable planet, better consider what you do every single day now. Are you reducing the use of electricity? These small acts will make a big difference. Play your part.
I’ll end off this review with a huge happy face giving this book 5 STARS! I recommend this book to all readers!
Happy reading bookworms!
There are a few quotes from the book that I really love: “…I can’t forget the way my heart stopped when his did.”
“Choice or no, my heart is his.”
“But Amy,” Elder says. “Space suits!”" <– hahah this one's really hilarious!! Elder sounds like a kid who wants only a lollipop or something!
“Just because we’re the only two teenagers on this whole ship doesn’t mean I have to love you. Why can’t I have a choice? Options?” ….. “Love without choice isn’t love at all. Just that I don’t want to be with you just because there’s no one else.”
Shades of Earth – Looking forward to read you!!
It’s been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is over. And everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed. But there may just be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He’s finally free to enact his vision – no more Phydus, no more lies.
But when Elder discovers shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed. They must work together to unlock a puzzle that was set in motion hundreds of years earlier, unable to fight the romance that’s growing between them and the chaos that threatens to tear them apart.
In book two of the Across the Universe trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis mesmerizes us again with a brilliantly crafted mystery filled with action, suspense, romance, and deep philosophical questions. And this time it all builds to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship.

Across The Universe
Man you don’t know how amazing this book is until you read it and you realize you just can’t seem to stop. Beth Revis did an amazing debut!! I COULDN’T WAIT FOR MILLION SUNS!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I read the book for 2 days! I didn’t even sense that time was already slipping so fast! Gosh!! Dystopian and sci-fi is AWESOME! Thanks to Beth Revis!
Amy is a cryogenically frozen passenger aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed. She expects to wake up on a new planet, 300 years in the future. But fifty years before Godspeed’s scheduled landing, Amy’s cryo chamber is unplugged, and she is nearly killed.
Now, Amy is caught inside an enclosed world where nothing makes sense. Godspeed’s passengers have forfeited all control to Eldest, a tyrannical and frightening leader, and Elder, his rebellious and brilliant teenage heir.
Amy desperately wants to trust Elder. But should she? All she knows is that she must race to unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets before whoever woke her tries to kill again.
How to start… ok. Let’s start how I really think that this may be possible in the future? But you know, I don’t want it to happen to me. It’s MUCH DIFFICULT than living on Earth. Let’s stop here for a while…i can’t seem to wrap my head around the book because lots of things happened in the book. Here’s my tweets (some reply to Beth Revis:
I’ve also felt fascinated – that the author mentioned Amy likes history! I was amazed that Amy was curious about the past of “Godspeed” (the ship) and to look at the how many generations had passed and really curious how to find Elder’s descendent. It was so awesome! My dad and I talked about history, one day and I was like listening to the stories of war and many more things I didn’t even know. To me, they were like stories but they happened long ago. Now sitting in front of this computer…I would say… I AM SO GRATEFUL TO BE HERE AT PEACE.
Yeah…like from my tweets, have you thought about it too? You know your family tree? From the start…to now..like WOW. If only back then, people recorded it down and passed it on to the next gen. *sigh* We would know. I’m not pretty much kidding about I might have American blood or maybe even Japanese, Chinese..whatever but it might be possible. POSSIBLE in the future when technology is much greater. But I’m really terrified about it.
You know..now that I thought about it, wanting to be pharmacist/micro-biologist one day..I kinda want to make it happen. I mean, I want it to be MY discovery of how to track family trees and many generations. Idk…I’m just being sSOOOO INSANE, maybe hahahaha Maybe this book is to blame for thinking about it. LOLOLOL. This dream I have is in this quote from Isaac Newton: To myself I am only a child playing on the beach, while vast oceans of truth lie undiscovered before me.
I am so scared of going to the future too. No more adults. I AM the adult the children around me will have for protection from something or… anything at all.
Ok..i better as well just stop my rambling here. It’s too much! This book is just great to discuss about in a book club! Haha I don’t have a book club though. Oh well.
P.S. Here’s something interesting… the Project Ark Ship (Godspeed).

Lots of things to see and infos to know about the spaceship! Oh..how I love the space not the ship haha! All right, ciao for now! Don’t forget to explore the site!
I’m being delusional about those things… so, don’t listen to a girl insane like me, ok? hahah
Some quotes from the book:
This is my favorite one ― (Elder) “Power isn’t control at all — power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own.”
(Amy) “It’s always in the rain..”
(Elder) “And there is nothing between us but rain.
Then there is nothing between us at all.”

@bethrevis while reading Across The Universe, there were a few sec I stopped & just let myself thought about my future. It made me cry :’(
@bethrevis I love how Amy is SO into history too. How she was curious about Elder’s descendent. My dad & I were fascinated w/ those stuff
